The SIMPLEX
seal has been fitted to some 50,000 vessels. It is well established that the seal itself works well. If you are experiencing a
problem with your seal, it will, in all probability, relate to incorrect
installation, incorrect servicing or incorrect specification for your particular application. Whilst these seals are
relatively simple in concept, they need to be set up correctly in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions, otherwise they will not function correctly. Leakage may occur and an additional docking
may be necessary. We recommend using an authorised
service station.
Furthermore the history of the seal
and wear down readings will be recorded, enabling managers to better understand what is required for the next drydocking.
Provided
sufficient space is available for our bonding equipment all SIMPLEX seals can have
their sealing rings replaced without the need to withdraw the
shaft. This is a regular class approved
permanent repair giving the same service life as a non-bonded seal.
