Simplex-Turbulo Company was established in 1935 supplying and servicing ships' components.  Although the first Simplex seal was tested in 1936, the war intervened and the seal was not introduced to the market until 1948.  From that moment on SIMPLEX has been synonymous with sterntube sealing systems. 90% of all deep sea vessels are still fitted with Lip type seals which incorporate the basic design concepts established more than 60 years ago, and indeed many of today’s manufacturers  at one stage manufactured under the SIMPLEX licence.   With this history behind us, our team of dedicated service engineers have built up a level of experience second to none, including experience on a large number of other seal brands.
